Mass Spectra of Designer Drugs 2012

RECENTLY PUBLISHED!

Compounds classified as Designer Drugs have been synthesized since the early 1980s. The last decade has seen a proliferation of such substances, such that keeping abreast of this huge number of new drugs is a difficult task for forensic chemists and toxicologists.  Designer Drugs 2012 covers the entire range of designer drugs up to December 2011. Carefully compiled by the mass spectral experts at the Regional Departments of Criminal Investigation in Kiel, Hamburg, and Wiesbaden, Germany, this database includes:

Mass Spectra of Designer Drugs 2012
bullet   More than 13,400 chemical compounds
bullet   More than 16,100 mass spectra, nearly 2,100 more spectra than the 2011 edition
bullet   Compound structures
bullet   Chemical warfare agents, added due to the interest in homeland security
bullet   And much, much more!

Stop by Booth #129 to see the newest edition!

Ancient Mayans Used Tobacco

Archaeologists examining late period Mayan containers have identified nicotine traces from a codex-style flask, revealing the first physical evidence of tobacco use by ancient Mayans. The study published in Rapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry reveals the flask is marked with Mayan hieroglyphics reading,
“y-otoot ’u-may,” (“the home of its/his/her tobacco,”) making it only the second case to confirm that the text on the exterior of a Mayan vessel corresponds to its ancient use...
